Short version: I don’t know, and I don’t think that I want to know what the alignment process consist of. All l need to know is that it will speed up access time, write speed and reed speed, so every operation including a SDcard read or write should be improved.

If your SD Card is already partitioned, you should skip the following paragraph
I’m using ROM Manager(or gParted from Linux), or youADB to partition my SD Card, because it’s fast and it’s working I really don’t want to partition it manually as long as I have these apps. So partition it using ROM Manager (you’ll find it in market) or gParted if you have Linux installed.
Next…If you have a
- EXT Partition
You should do this BEFORE installing a ROM, because it will erase everything from your Ext partition.
If you have an ext3 partition and you want to convert it to ext4, download this zip first, put it on your SDcard and flash it
Flash the selected zip and then install your ROM
- FAT Partition
